Growing up in Hamilton, painting and drawing was a passion I had as a child, but was soon left behind when I headed to Auckland University to become an architect.
After finishing university and practicing as an architect for several years, I soon rediscovered my true passion was in the arts.
In 2001 I was awarded an art scholarship and with the support of my Architectural firm behind me, I started my fine art studies.
I married and moved to the South Island of New Zealand where I began to paint full time. I have exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in Marlborough and solo exhibition in Auckland. My works have been sold locally and as far away as Canada.
Now with two young children, I teach art and paint in any free time I can get. Oil painting is my current medium of choice, with explorations also into ink, watercolour, pencil and acrylics, along with some sculpture works using natural materials. My recent work has been very much influenced by her children and the incredible imagination they have.
For me, painting, drawing, and creating are like breathing, it is something that comes as a natural process, a way to express my ideas and to focus my thoughts.
